2.5 Meters Of Flash Floods Hit, Two Residents Of Musi Regency Died
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that two residents in North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), died as a result of the 2.5-meter-high flash flood that hit the area.
Followed by ANTARA, Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that not only claimed lives, the flash flood that occurred yesterday, Tuesday morning, April 16, also resulted in as many as 196 other residents being forced to evacuate.
BNPB confirmed that the fatalities and refugees were recorded as residents living in 32 villages, each in Karang Jaya, Rupit, Ulu Rawas, and Rawas Ulu sub-districts.
For this reason, he said that the South Sumatra BPBD had added two rubber boats to support the acceleration of emergency handling and evacuate the victims because currently the flood had not subsided.
Based on the latest data from the BNPB Pusdalops team, it is known that as of Wednesday morning there were 2,839 residents who were flooded, so the occupants had to be evacuated.

In addition, he said, the flood also caused damage to public facilities, including six broken pedestrian bridges, five houses of worship and 10 units of health facilities severely damaged.
He ensured that the North Musi Rawas Regency Government (Pemkab) had established a public kitchen located in Suka Win Village, Karang Jaya, and also distributed at least 50 packages of logistical assistance to meet food and clothing needs for victims during the disaster emergency.
