Artists Found Using Subsidized LPG, Director General Of Oil And Gas: Only For Underprivileged People
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) Tutuka Ariadji opened his voice about artist Prilly Latuconsina who was caught cooking using a subsidized 3 kg LPG gas.
Tutuka said that his party appealed to the general public to use LPG gas according to their economic abilities and conditions. In this case, 3 kg LPG is a commodity intended for the underprivileged.
"We convey to the public, don't be like that. That is the right of the underprivileged. So, yes, feel that this is not me, it's not my right to buy. You can't, it's not your right. This is someone else's right," said Tutuka to the media crew when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Tuesday 16 April.
Regarding the imposition of sanctions for the misuse of subsidized LPG, Tutuka said that his party from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources did not impose sanctions but would only limit purchases for the upper middle class. Regarding sanctions, the ministry will hand over to the authorities.
"If there are sanctions, maybe not. With this system, we can't just buy later. Later there will be a Presidential Decree on how many people can buy, now outside of that we can't buy, we already have a system. We have registered 161 million NIKs. Now, if he wants to buy it, then it turns out that his ID card is not in that group, right? can't," concluded Tutuka.

This step is the Government's effort to realize the transformation of 3 kg LPG distribution on target. This policy aims to make the increasing amount of subsidies fully enjoyed by groups of people unable or on target.
For 3 kg LPG users who have not been registered or want to check the user's status, they are required to register or check their personal data in the LPG Sub-Distributor / Agent before making the purchase.
