This Is Campus' Response To The Murder Of An Online Taxi Driver With Student Status At UIN STS Jambi

JAMBI - State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi is ready to impose sanctions on students who are suspects in the murder of online taxi drivers.Deputy Dean of the Three Faculty of Adab UIN STS Jambi Muhammad Fadhil said, UIN STS Jambi is currently checking the truth and gathering all the facts and documents needed.Especially regarding information which states that one of the alleged perpetrators also has the status of an UIN STS Jambi student.He said that if it was true that the person concerned was an STS Jambi UIN student, of course this was an individual action that was carried out outside of college hours and in a capacity not as a student."The leader of UIN STS Jambi ensures that he will not tolerate this and will not remain silent and ready to follow up on this. If the student is a student of UIN STS Jambi, then the university will take firm and concrete steps according to existing regulations. The certainty of sanctions will be carried out after the meeting and ethics trial to discuss this. If it is proven, the sanctions that can be imposed for cases like this can reach the heaviest sanctions, namely dismissal from UIN STS Jambi," he said in a written statement received in Jambi, Antara, Tuesday, April 16.UIN STS Jambi's response follows reports of a murder case being handled by the Jambi Police with the involvement of UIN Jambi students as the perpetrator of the murder of an online taxi driver on Tuesday, April 9.Fadhil emphasized that his party supports and appreciates the police's swift steps in efforts to resolve the case. UIN Jambi ensured that he would fully respect and hand over to the legal process being carried out by the police.Previously, it was reported that an online taxi driver in Jambi was killed by two youths with the initials AS and AT. After being killed, the body of this taxi driver was dumped in the Ness area, Batanghari on Tuesday (9/4) and was only found on Sunday (14/4).
Currently, the two perpetrators have been detained at the Jambi Regional Police, including evidence. Of the two murder suspects, one of them is suspected of being a student of the Jambi STS UIN.
