PLN Alerts In The Main Zone Of Public Transportation During The Backflow Period

PT PLN (Persero) ensures that electricity is in prime condition in the main zone of public transportation to deal with the backflow of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H. After successfully overseeing the smooth flow of homecoming, PLN also focuses on securing crucial points ranging from terminals, ports, stations to airports.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo said, PLN will continue to ensure the reliability of electricity supply and personnel during the 2024 Eid alert period. This is in line with PLN's commitment to overseeing the flow of homecoming and return during the 2024 Eid season.

"PLN ensures the readiness of electricity supply to personnel at crucial points, including public transportation zones during homecoming and backflow. Electricity is one of the most important elements in supporting transportation services to the community," Darmawan said in a statement to the media, Monday, April 15.

As a destination for Lebaran's return flow, he continued, PLN focused electricity security at several points in Jakarta, including Pulo Gebang Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, Tanjung Priok Terminal, Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, Manggarai Station, Jatinegara Station, Halim Fast Train Station, and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

General Manager of PLN Jakarta Distribution Main Unit, Lasiran said, PLN has prepared a layered supply in the 10 main zones by alerting 2,080 officers, 21 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) total power of 5,080 kiloVolt Ampere (kVA), 9 units of mobile cable totaling 6,400 meters, 38 units of moving substation total power of 23,240 kVA, and 11 units of mobile transformer total power of 4,440 kVA.

"We have prepared supporting officers and equipment to secure electricity supply in the main zone of public transportation that is included in the work area of PLN Jakarta Raya," said Lasiran.

Lasiran added, for example, Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport as one of the main zones for public transportation in Jakarta, has been supplied with 4 layers of electricity supply and equipped with an Automatic Change Over (ACO). The existence of this ACO increases the reliability of electricity supply by automatically switching when there is disruption to the main supply.

"So we have investigated all public transportation zones and tested the system before this homecoming period to ensure there is no anomaly, and we remain on standby and coordinating with the local PIC," said Lasiran.

Lasiran emphasized that PLN continues to establish communication and coordination with public transportation zone managers to be intensively improved. In addition, monitoring of the electricity system from the Distribution Control Center is also carried out in real-time to obtain the latest conditions for electricity in each location.

"Facing this backflow, officers and supporting equipment will be in the electricity post for 24 hours without a break, even during the Lebaran period," concluded Lasiran.
