The Cause Of Clashes Between Indonesian Navy And Mobile Brigade Members At Sorong Port Continues To Be Investigated
Head of the Naval Information Service (Kadispenal), Laksma I Made Wira Hady Arsanta Wardhana, said the cause of the clash between members of the Indonesian Navy and Brimob at Sorong Port, Southwest Papua, was still being investigated. This incident occurred at around 09.30 WITA on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
"What is the cause of this that we are investigating," Wira told reporters, Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Wira only ensured that members of the Indonesian Navy who were at the location were dressed in uniforms and were on duty to secure travelers.
"We are currently investigating with Lantamal with the Regional Police," he said.

He did not specify how many members were involved in the incident. Wira only said that a member of the TNI was hit in the head and suffered serious injuries.
"Right now, his actions are saving those who were seriously injured first," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of TNI Headquarters, Major General Nugraha Gumilar, said the incident occurred at the entrance to the waiting room for the departure of the Pelindo IV Sorong Office, Southwest Papua.
"There has been a fight between members of the Mobile Brigade of the Southwest Papua Police and members of the Indonesian Navy, Marhanlan XIV/Sorong," he told reporters on a separate occasion.
Nugraha said this incident stemmed from a misunderstanding. Five people were injured.
"Currently, he has been hospitalized," said Nugraha.
