47 Thousand Backflow Homecomers Return To Jakarta By Train Today

JAKARTA - Public Relations Manager of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta Ixfan Hendriwintoko projects that there are 47,317 passengers who come or return to Jakarta this Sunday and are the highest number of travelers for this year's Eid homecoming period.

"For today's arrival, according to the data we monitored this morning, today is the peak of backflow, recorded as many as 47,317 passengers that we will serve," said Ixfan as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, April 14.

According to Ixfan, as many as 47,317 passengers will disembark at a number of stations in the KAI DAOP 1 area, including Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, and other stations.

Usually, the number of passenger arrivals to Jakarta is the most at night. On the other hand, the morning and evening times are usually dominated by passengers who will go to the homecoming destination.

The first reverse flow occurred today, April 14, 2024, today is the highest, but it can still change," said Ixfan.

There are as many as 392,740 travelers who are predicted to return to Jakarta and its surroundings by train during the backflow period as of March 31 to April 14, 2024. This figure is expected to continue to increase as the return flow ticket bookings are still available.

Meanwhile, during the Lebaran homecoming period from March 31 to April 11, he said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta had dispatched more than 500 thousand passengers. The peak of the homecoming flow takes place on April 8, 2024 with 47,852 passengers.

"The flow back for tomorrow is still above 40 thousand more, today is the highest," said Ixfan. "We appeal to the passengers who are coming, when they are about to get off, make sure before getting off the train they have stopped perfectly and check the luggage again".
