KNKT: PO Rosalia Indah Salahi Procedures For Assignment Of Accident Bus Drivers On Batang Toll Roads
The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) said that based on the results of a series of examinations, it found a procedural error in the assignment of a bus driver by PO Bus Rosalia Indah who had a single accident on the KM-370 A Batang-Semarang Toll Road, resulting in the death of seven victims.
Chairman of the Road Transportation Sub-Commission of the National Transportation Safety Committee Ahmad Wildan said that from the results of the inspection, the NTSC found a pattern of assignment of bus drivers that could potentially cause fatigue.
"Therefore, we will continue to coordinate with the police to prepare a final report on the accident case," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 12.
According to him, based on the results of the investigation, there were no significant technical problems in the vehicle involved in the single accident at the KM-370 Batang-Semarang Toll Road.

However, he said, the main focus fell on driver assignments, namely the assignment pattern in the last three months and one month before the accident could lead to a "micro sleep" condition that increases the risk of accidents.
Batang Kapoolres AKBP Nur Cahyo Ari Prasetya explained that in the accident case, the Rosalia Indah bus driver, Widodo Line (44) had tried to overcome drowsiness by stopping the driven bus.
"While passing through the Pekalongan area, the bus driver felt sleepy so he stopped and walked for about 3 minutes to get rid of drowsiness," he said.
After stopping for a while, the bus driver then continued his journey again but at KM. 370, JW fell asleep and fell asleep until the bus got out of the lane and got into the ditch.
"From that case, as many as seven passengers were killed and dozens of people suffered minor and serious injuries. In that case, we also named a bus driver named Line Widodo as a suspect," he said.
