Anticipating Brawls, The National Police Chief Urges The Public Not To Convoy On Vehicles At Takbiran Night

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appealed to the public not to convoy vehicles on Takbiran night ahead of Eid 2024.

"Following up on what has been conveyed by the National Police Chief on the Takbir night ahead of Lebaran 2024, it is better not to convoy vehicles," said Police Spokesperson Kombes Iroth Lauren Recky in his statement, Tuesday, April 9.

According to Iroth, this is in accordance with Article 134 Point 7 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

The National Police also appealed to stay away from playing with firecrackers or fireworks because it could endanger themselves and others.

"This refers to the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning Fireworks," he said.

Then another appeal, namely to avoid activities that have the potential to lead to illegal racing and even brawls.
