2 Children In Intan Jaya Shot During Contact With KKB
JAYAPURA - Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri said two children were shot during a gun battle between Brimob and KKB personnel in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua.
"It is true, Monday, there had been a shootout that caused two children to be shot, one of whom died. From the reports received, initially at around 14.00 WIT, the KKB opened fire on the Brimob post which was next to the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) office in Sugapa and was replied by members until there was a shootout," said Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 8.
The victim who died was Nando Duwitau (12) while the injured, namely Nopina Duwitau (6) suffered gunshot wounds to the wrist and a severed thumb.
Victim Nopina Duwitau is currently still being treated at the Bilogai Health Center, while Nando Duwitau's body has been taken by his family for burial.
