Homecomers Are Reminded Not To Park On The Shoulder Of The Road Near Rest Area
JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, reminded travelers not to park their vehicles on the shoulder of the road when the parking lot in the rest area is full because it can hinder the flow of toll road traffic.
Density in the rest area or toll road resting place is a record and attention of the Korlantas Polri so as not to spread to toll roads and disrupt the smooth flow of traffic.
"So, the rest of the area is a separate note for the toll road. We have coordinated with BUJT, then the area rest management," said Aan at KM72 after opening the implementation of a one wayarus homecoming on the Cipali Toll Road, West Java, Friday, April 5 evening.
The condition of the KM57 area ahead of one Friday night, is full of parking vehicles. There is no information about the availability of parking lots at the entrance, causing several vehicles that have entered the rest area and cannot be found, eventually parking their vehicles on the shoulder of the road near the rest area.
This condition makes the slowdown in the flow of vehicles that want to enter the rest area and have an impact on traffic flow on toll roads.
In order to prevent current blockages around the rest area, Korlantas arranges the flow for vehicles entering the resting place.
"Earlier we applied it at KM57 for incoming flow arrangements, then limiting the length of rest in the rest area," said Aan.
Homecomers are limited to using a maximum rest area of 30 minutes so that there is a movement in and out of the vehicle.
"This is quite effective, so it doesn't open and close at KM57, but when it may be overloaded, there is no more parking space, we will open and close the area," he said.

For this reason, Aan appealed to travelers if they were tired to be able to rest at the rest area, but if the area rest is full, they are not allowed to park on the shoulder of the road.
Parking on the shoulder of the road has a high risk of traffic accidents and disrupts the smooth flow of traffic.
"So, we urge those who are tired to need to rest, if the area is full, don't stop on the shoulder of the road because this is dangerous," he said.
