Expand Concrete Market Ready To Use, GIS Inaugurates Batching Plant In Subang, West Java

JAKARTA - PT Solusi Bangun Beton (SBB), one of the business units of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), inaugurated the Ready-mixed Batching Plant Subang located in the Intipaya Subang Industri area, Purwadadi District, Subang Regency, West Java, on Friday 22 March.

The inauguration of the SBB Subang Batching Plant is an effort to expand the ready-to-use concrete product network or ready-mixed concrete and support the government in infrastructure development in the Subang area and its surroundings.

The SBB Subang Batching Plant was built with a production volume capacity of 60 cubic meters per hour. The SBB Subang Batching Plant Service will include Subang Regency, Indramayu Regency, Karawang Regency, and Majalengka Regency.

SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni said the large number of new industrial and warehousing areas in Subang, including the Intijaya Subang Industri area, which was recently operational, became an opportunity for GIS to participate in developing industrial and commercial areas in Subang Regency and its surroundings.

This is also in line with SIG's readiness to support National Strategic Projects (PSN) such as the Patimban Port Access Toll Road, which is a large port along with Tanjung Priok Port and is part of the global supply chain. This Access Toll Road will connect Patimban Port which is connected to Jalan Pantura with the Trans-Java Toll Road for the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) section.

In addition, other infrastructures such as West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati to Subang Smartpolitan, are also able to encourage economic growth, and equitable development, as well as the development of new independent cities.

"The advantage of infrastructure is able to be an opportunity for economic growth, including the construction sector, so that it becomes a potential market for SIG and its subsidiaries to provide high-quality building materials," said Vita Mahreyni.

Vita Mahreyni added that the presence of the Subang Batching Plant further strengthens the position of GIS and fills the ready-to-print concrete market in Subang and its surroundings. To date, GIS has had 59 active batching plants spread throughout Indonesia supported by quality and environmentally friendly raw materials, using the latest technology, and various concrete solutions to become innovative to meet sustainable development needs.

"In the midst of increasingly competitive market conditions, the Company continues to strive to create opportunities through the development of product and service diversification to further strengthen its position as a provider of sustainable building materials solutions," explained Vita Mahreyni.

Throughout 2023, GIS managed to record an increase in sales volume by 10 percent to 40.62 million tons, mainly from sales growth in the bulk and export segments. The sales portion of the bulk segment was recorded at around 29 percent of the total domestic sales volume which reached 33.109 million tons in 2023, where the ready-to-use concrete sector was one of the driving factors for sales growth in the GIS domestic bulk segment.

SBB is one of the business units of GIS which produces various forms of concrete, including ready-mixed concrete (prepared concrete) with the standard SNI 2087:2013, aggregate products, mini PakCrete (instant concrete solution), mortar, to providers of construction applications and heavy equipment (heavy equipment).

Soak concrete products and added-value construction solutions from SBB have contributed to the development of commercial estates and infrastructure in Indonesia, including the Thamrin Nine Complex with Autograph Tower which is the highest building in Indonesia today, Pondok Indah Mall Complex (PIM), Pondok Indah Residence and Hotel, Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll Road (Cisumdawu), Kediri Dho Airport, General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang, Solo-Ngawi Toll Road, Bakauheni-Berbanggi Besar Toll Road, Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) revitalization, Cikampek Flatglass Museum, as well as pedestrian path revitalization in several areas in DKI Jakarta such as Fatmawati, Banteng Field, Senayan, Sisingamaraja and Wahid Hasyim.
