Netflix Launces Fast Laugh Feature, Which Can Make Funny Video Clips Like TikTok
JAKARTA - Recently, a new feature appeared on the movie streaming platform, Netflix. This feature is called Fast Laugh, a feature that offers short videos like TikTok. Netflix makes use of this feature to show trailers of various films on their platform.
As the name suggests, this Fast Laugh feature only shows hilarious footage from films and series. The duration displayed in this feature is also short. The company said that the presence of this feature is expected to make it easier for its platform users to find various comedy films to watch.
The display of this feature is also made as simple as possible so that users can search for various comedy clips easily and comfortably.
"We wanted to provide a more fun way for users to find hilarious moments in our movie catalog or TV series through a full screen experience", Netflix said in an interview.
It is planned that this new feature will be presented in a new tab that is placed between two other tabs, "Coming Soon" and "Downloads". So, users only need to select that new tab to watch various funny video clips.
Netflix revealed that it has provided 100 video footage previously curated by the team and will be broadcast alternately on the Fast Laugh feature. The company leaked that the hilarious short video footage would be taken from famous stand-up comedy shows such as Jerry Seinfield, Hannah Gadsby, Kevin Hart, and Ali Wong.
While the footage from the film is taken from Never Have I Ever, Murder Mystery, Moxie, Schitt's Creek, and so on. With this feature, users can click on a number of symbols arranged vertically in the Fast Laugh feature. This makes Fast Laugh resemble the appearance of the popular short video application TikTok.

A number of submenus in this feature include "LOL" so that users can give a laugh response. Then there is "My List" so that users can add videos to the playlist. There is also "Share" which functions to share the snippet on the user's social media. The last one is "Play", where users will be directed to watch the full version of the film which comes from the video footage that has been watched.
However, Netflix's Fast Laugh feature is only available for the iOS version of the application. It has just been launched for users of the Netflix application in a few countries, such as in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
The company also hasn't announced when this feature will be available for the Android version. Until now, Indonesian users also don't know when this feature will be available. Cited from Variety, in the future, the company plans to test this feature for Android in the future.
