What Are CC And BCC: Here's The Discussion
YOGYAKARTA - When you send an email, in the receiving column, on the right there are cc and bcc features. So, what are CC and BCC? Let's discuss it here!
If you return to times before the computer era, write a letter from the world using a tik machine. When you want to copy a letter, a carbon paper is put down so that what is typed can be directly copied on other papers behind the letter.
So that when you type on the top sheet, the traces of what is typed will appear on carbon paper. Meanwhile, the writing that appears on carbon paper will be a copy of the document that is being typed.
Well, when the digital period rolled and sent letters shifted via email, this copy message changed its name to Carbon Copy (CC) and Blind Carbon Copy (BCC).
CC plays a role so that you can send emails to several other recipients at the same time. But all recipients can see that others also have a copy, and they can see each other's email addresses, as quoted from the Android Authority.
This is generally used when you send emails to colleagues, but you also want your superiors to always know what is being discussed in the email.
If with CC other recipients can recognize anyone who also received a similar email, by entering an email address into the BCC, no other email recipient knows who else has the email copy.
With the BCC feature, email recipients also cannot reply to these emails to all other email recipients.
Not only that, they will also not be able to see the email addresses of the people who got the copies. Not only emails containing sensitive information, BCC is also ideal for group email where you don't want to give everyone details.

When Should You Wear CC?
Indeed, CC usage is a bit confusing. The reason is, you can immediately enter several recipient addresses in the address column of the main email recipient.
But why do people still use CC?
According to Campaign Monitor, the email recipient's address column should be filled by the main email recipient's address. This is an ethical problem. Therefore, the CC column is available and can be used for other email recipients.
When Should You Wear BCC?
You are advised to use BCC at a time when you do not want the main email recipient to know that the email was also sent to other people. As we discussed above, you can also use BCC if the email is sent to many people.
If you include everything in the main email address field or CC, the email recipient will get a long list of email addresses of other recipients. Meanwhile, if you use BCC, make a long list of recipients, other email addresses will not be visible.
The main email recipient from you will feel like the email is specifically sent to them. Reporting from LinkedIn, BCC can only be used for emails that are not personal.
You can send email copies with BCC if you don't want other recipients to be seen by the main email recipient or those sent by CC.
Supposedly, don't use BCC for work purposes because it gives the impression of hiding when sending email copies.
