Garuda Indonesia Officially Serves Jakarta - Doha Direct Flights
The national airline PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) officially serves the Jakarta - Doha (Qatar) round-trip flight route starting Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with the first flight successfully carrying at least 272 passengers.
Jakarta - Doha pp direct flights are operated through codeshare cooperation with Qatar Airways, by providing daily services using the Boeing B777-300ER fleet.
GIAA President Director Irfan Setiaputra in Jakarta, Friday, April 5, said that the Jakarta - Doha pp direct flight route service is a form of the company's commitment as the flag carrier of the nation to present added value to the community.
"Through the presence of various flight options to go to the Middle East, it is the company's effort to support national economic growth, especially through the acceleration of foreign tourist movements," said Irfan, quoted from Antara.
He said that the expansion of the international route flight network was an expansionary step for the company in maximizing income opportunities in the midst of high air transportation mobility traffic between Doha and Jakarta or vice versa.
With the inauguration of this flight route, he hopes to provide diverse choices for service users, considering that Doha is one of the transit hubs for foreign tourists from the Middle East who is also connected to Europe and America.
"We hope that the opening of this direct flight route to and from Doha will be able to support efforts to bring foreign tourists to visit various destinations in Indonesia through the availability of direct flights to Jakarta," said Irfan.
The Jakarta - Doha pp flight route will be served every day using a fleet of B777-300ER aircraft capable of carrying more than 300 passengers.
The flight will be served with flight number GA900 which is scheduled to depart from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 18.20 WIB and arrives at Hamad Doha International Airport at 23.00 LT.

Irfan hopes that the collaboration between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways will strengthen bilateral relations between Qatar and Indonesia which has been going well for more than five decades since 1976.
"In the future, Garuda Indonesia will continue to develop cooperation with various airline partners in presenting added value to the community through the presence of various choices of flight routes, especially international flight routes which are expected to have a positive impact on improving the company's performance, but can also support national tourism growth," said Irfan.
