AP I Targets To Serve 3.3 Million Passengers In The Eid Period 2024

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) targets to serve 3.39 million passengers in line with the operation of the 2024 Eid Air Transport Post at 15 airports managed from 3 to 18 April 2024.

This figure increased by 8 percent compared to the realization of passenger movements at the Lebaran 2023 Post which reached 3.13 million passengers.

"The operation of the Lebaran post at 15 AP1 airports aims to oversee the smooth operation of flights during the period of homecoming flow and backflow during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The operation of the Lebaran Command Post is also based on the principles of safety, security, services, and compliance," said AP1 President Director MMA Indah Preastuty quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, April 4.

AP I targets to be able to serve as many as 26 thousand aircraft movements or an increase of 8 percent compared to the realization of aircraft movements at the Lebaran 2023 Command Post.

Indah revealed that the Lebaran 2024 Command Post operating at 15 airports will be manned by 4,653 personnel divided into 4,227 internal AP I personnel and 426 security personnel from the TNI and Polri.

For the busiest airport, AP I projects Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Surabaya Juanda Airport, Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Balikpapan SAMS Sepinggan Airport, and Yogyakarta International Airport will become airports with a high number of passenger and aircraft movements during the 2024 Eid Post period.

AP I also predicts that the peak of homecoming flow will occur on Saturday, April 6 or D-4 Lebaran and for the peak of backflow is predicted to occur on Monday, April 15 or D+4 Lebaran.

As for the extra flight, as of Wednesday April 3, AP I noted that nine airports had received 2,151 extra flight applications submitted by 11 airlines.

The airport with the highest number of extra flight applications, namely Juanda Airport Surabaya with 538 applications, Yogyakarta International Airport with 410 applications, and Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with 295 applications.

"In principle, in terms of airport infrastructure, operational readiness and personnel, AP I is ready to oversee and ensure the smooth running of air transportation during the Eid Transport period this year," said Indah.
