European Union And Iran Discuss Israeli Attacks On Consulates In Damascus
JAKARTA - EU Foreign Policy Chief (EU)Josep Borrell and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian by phone call on Wednesday discussed Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria this week.
"I spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, reaffirming our condemnation of the attack on Iran's diplomatic facility in Damascus which resulted in several casualties," Borrell said on X's social media account.
Borrell highlighted the need for place security and diplomatic personnel who cannot be contested according to international laws and treaties. He added "needs to avoid further escalation."
