Commander: TNI Alerts 2,000 Personnel To Secure Lebaran Homecoming In East Java

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said his party deployed 2,000 personnel stationed at integrated posts and service posts in East Java to secure the flow of Eid Al-Fitr 2024 homecoming.

"The TNI, which is in the ranks of Kodam V/Brawijaya, deployed 2,000 personnel who will later be placed in integrated posts and service posts," said Agus Subiyanto when checking integrated posts and service posts at Purabaya Sidoarjo Terminal, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 4.

In addition to personnel, the TNI has also prepared land, sea, and air transportation equipment.

"We are also preparing for SAR, such as booth boats, tow trucks, then we distribute them on toll roads. In the event of a traffic accident, it can be immediately marginalized. Then we provide an ambulance at vulnerable points," he said.

As for mitigation, the TNI will support the efforts of the Police on what interferes with the homecoming, so that the implementation runs smoothly and safely.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that in general the East Java region is one of the main goals of going home and from the results of the 2023 homecoming evaluation, the number of traffic accidents is not higher than other areas.

"So we reminded you to really maintain the safety of travelers, both using private vehicles and using public transportation vehicles," he said.

The National Police Chief said that at the Purabaya Terminal a urine test was carried out for bus drivers. In addition, there are also health services for both passengers and drivers.

"I think it's good that there is also a service room, if there are complaints from the public that there may be disturbances related to criminality problems," he said.

Mainly, continued Sigit, to ensure the decline in traffic accidents in areas that often occur.
