Member Of The House Of Representatives, Witness Prabowo-Gibran, Says All Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Take Advantage Of Social Assistance As An Electoral Incentive
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI, Tubagus Ace Hasan Syadzily, called all pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 General Election contestation using social assistance (bansos) as electoral incentives.
This statement was made when he was presented as a witness for the Prabowo-Gibran camp at the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) trial at the Constitutional Court (MK), Thursday, April 4.
According to him, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates modified social assistance with the work program promised during the campaign.
"Let us say that these social assistance programs are also often capitalized by replicating or modifying. I don't think it's just the 02 presidential candidate but also other presidential candidates with terms such as Plus layoffs, magic cards and so on," said Ace.
However, he said, the use of social assistance as an electoral incentive was not too much done at the Presidential Election (Pilpres) level. In fact, it often occurs in the legislature.
"In fact, there is more tendency in the legislative election, compared to apologizing in the context of the presidential election," he said.
For example, at the legislative level, this practice occurs in Commission VIII which oversees the social sector. Then, also carried out by Commission X which is engaged in education by bringing up or running the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) program.
"I don't think that's wrong because it's part of fighting for our constituency," said Ace.
