Defendant Of Corruption Educational Performance Equipment In Aceh Sued 5 Years In Prison
BANDA ACEH - The public prosecutor of the Central Aceh District Attorney's Office charged the defendant with corruption (tipikor) of educational props worth more than Rp. 5 billion with a sentence of five years in prison.
The claim was read out by the public prosecutor (JPU) Antoni Mustaqbal at the trial at the Corruption Court at the Banda Aceh District Court in Banda Aceh, Thursday, April 4.
The defendant Agus Sulaeman is a partner in the procurement of indoor and outdoor educational play tools at the Central Aceh District Education Office, 2019 fiscal year.
The trial with the panel of judges chaired by Teuku Syarafi and accompanied by R Deddy Haryanto and Heri Alfian, each as member judges. The defendant Agus Sulaeman attended the trial accompanied by his legal adviser.
In addition to being sentenced to five years in prison, the Public Prosecutor also demanded that the defendant Agus Sulaeman pay a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to one month in prison and sentenced to pay state losses of more than Rp. 777 million.
"The state loss is paid no later than one month after the decision has permanent legal force. Otherwise, the property is confiscated and auctioned off to pay state losses. If the defendant does not have property, he will be sentenced to two years and six months in prison," said the Public Prosecutor.

The Public Prosecutor stated that the Central Aceh District Education Office in the 2019 fiscal year procured educational game tools for kindergarten. Indoor educational game tools with a budget of IDR 2.47 billion and outdoor educational game tools IDR 2.47 billion.
Based on the facts at the trial, said the prosecutor, the defendant, won the procurement auction. However, the defendant did not carry out the work according to the contract, causing more than Rp1 billion in losses to the state.
"The defendant's actions violated Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) letter a, b of Law Number 31 of 1999 which was amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption," said the Public Prosecutor.
