South Sumatra LRT Add 8 Trips During Eid Holidays
PALEMBANG - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Divre III Palembang said the South Sumatra Light Rail Transit (LRT) (Sumsel) increased eight trips during the Eid 2024/1445 Hijri holiday.
"To provide services to South Sumatra LRT users during the Eid holiday, South Sumatra LRT added eight trips on April 11-14, 2024, this is to accommodate the surge in LRT users during the Eid holiday," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Divre III Palembang Aida Suryanti as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 4.
The addition of the South Sumatra LRT trip was from 94 trips per day to 102 trips from 11 to 14 April, by adding 1 trainset from 10.35 to 17.53 WIB. The operating hours of the South Sumatra LRT are from 05.06 to 20.43 WIB.
In addition to the addition of eight trips, his party has also prepared a period of Eid transportation in anticipation of the crowds of seasonal users who want to mobilize using the South Sumatra LRT.
A minimum service standard check (SPM) was carried out at railway and station facilities, anticipating disruptions to infrastructure and facilities, and placing post officers at every LRT station who would assist the flow of passengers so that order and comfort at the station were maintained.
"The existence of the South Sumatra LRT during the Lebaran holiday is an attraction in itself, especially for migrants who are going home in Palembang City. LRT stations that pass through the icons of Palembang City, shopping centers, public facilities and comfortable and affordable tariffs make South Sumatra LRT an alternative transportation chosen by the public on the Lebaran holiday," he said.

PT KAI Divre III Palembang noted that data on South Sumatra LRT users entered the Eid Transport period in 2024 from March 31 to April 3, totaling 44,168 passengers experienced an increase of 4,868 passengers compared to the same period of Eid Transportation in 2023.
The daily average of this year's Eid transportation period is 11,042 with the highest station for passenger ups and downs is Ampera Station 9,814 passengers, then Hajj Dormitory Station with 8,591 passengers, and DJKA Station with 5,070 passengers.
