DPR Agrees Not To Revise MD3 Law Until The End Of Term Of Office
JAKARTA - The DPR agreed not to revise the laws of the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD (UU MD3) until the end of the term of office of members of the council for the 2019-2024 period was completed. This was confirmed by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR from the Gerindra Faction, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, April 4. Dasco initially responded to the question of revising the MD3 Law into the national legislation program (Prolegnas). Dasco said, the revision of this law had been planned to be included in the prolegnas since 2019 along with dozens of other laws. However, Dasco emphasized that changes did not occur in the chapter on the chair of the chairman of the DPR. This means that the position of chairman of the DPR remains held by members of the council who came from the political party who won the election. "I haven't checked whether it is true to enter the Priority Prolegnas Law, because as far as we know it was planned some time ago, in order it might be necessary to adjust the number or several articles that are deemed necessary. But not for the change of leadership composition," said Dasco.
