Following Up On ISBF 2024, Indonesia-Singapore Will Discuss Plans For 6 Working Groups
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto met with Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia HE Kwok Fook Seng at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the meeting was a follow-up to the results of the 2024 Indonesia-Singapore Business Forum (ISBF) activities in Singapore on March 27, 2024 and He also gave a Special Address speech at the forum attended by the highest executives of Singaporean companies.
"I am very happy to be able to attend the ISBF forum and have the opportunity to discuss with several high-ranking Singaporean business officials who have close relations with Indonesia," Airlangga said in his official statement, quoted Thursday, April 4.
The Singapore Ambassador also expressed his highest appreciation and appreciation to Coordinating Minister Airlangga for his involvement in the 2024 ISBF.
Furthermore, Airlangga and the Singaporean Ambassador will meet with Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong in the framework of economic bilateral cooperation 6 Working Groups (WG) Indonesia-Singapore.
Cooperation 6 WG is a bilateral forum that aims to increase economic collaboration between the two countries where one of the areas of cooperation covers the economic areas of Batam, Bintan, Karimun (BBK) and other Special Economic Zones (KEK). Cooperation also includes increasing the investment, transportation, labor, agribusiness, and tourism sectors.
"It is hoped that the 6 WG Ministerial Meeting of Cooperation can be held before the Leaders meeting," Airlangga continued.
The implementation of the 6 WG Ministerial Meeting (MM) is planned to be combined with the implementation of the IPEF Clean Economy Investor Forum in June 2024 in Singapore, where Coordinating Minister Airlangga was also invited to participate.
Meanwhile, the planned time and place for the Leaders' Retreat (LR) meeting is still being discussed by the two governments.

It is known that this year's LR meeting is the last LR for the two leaders because President Joko Widodo will end his term of office on October 20, 2024 and PM Lee Hsien Loong will hand over the post of PM before November 2024.
In preparation for MM 6 WG, a Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) will be held in May 2024 in Yogyakarta, presenting representatives from each working group 6 WG to convey the progress of each working group.
