Rivian Advances Fast, Production Reaches 100,000 Units And Achieves 68,000 Reservations For New Electric Cars

JAKARTA - Electric car manufacturer from the United States (US), Rivian, is stealing attention. They have just reached an important milestone by launching their 10,000th vehicle from their plant in Normal, Illinois, USA.

This achievement is certainly proof of the positive momentum that Rivian is experiencing. In the first quarter of 2024, they managed to surpass analyst expectations by producing 13,980 units and sending 13,588 electric vehicles.

Initially, as reported by Teslarati, April 4, analysts estimated that Rivian's production in the first quarter of 2024 would only reach 13,800 units with 11,900 units of delivery. Even greater, Rivian still maintains their production target for 2024 at 57,000 vehicles.

Currently, Rivian does have only one production plant located in Normal, Illinois. Thus, it is certain that all the vehicles they will send this year, including the 10,000th R1S, come from the factory.

In addition to the impressive production achievement, Rivian has also just started providing North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters to their customers. This adapter allows Rivian users to charge their vehicles at more than 15,000 compatible Tesla Supercharger fast charging stations. This initiative has won praise from users, especially as Rivian has also integrated Tesla Supercharger charging prices into the screen on their vehicles. Scaringe also called this decision a form of "great collaboration with Tesla team."

Rivian seems to not only focus on vehicle production today. They are also aggressively attracting consumer interest in their latest generation electric vehicles, namely the R2 SUV crossover, R3, and R3X.
