Mitsubishi Said About Presenting Hybrid Models In Indonesia, MMKSI: Just A Matter Of Time

JAKARTA - Sales of the hybrid car segment in Indonesia continue to increase, proof of the sales report of a number of well-known manufacturers and data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (GAIKINDO).

The increasing interest of consumers was welcomed by manufacturers by presenting a number of the latest models. So, will PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) as the Mitsubishi vehicle brand agent in Indonesia, bring a hybrid car to Indonesia?

Because the brand already has various hybrid line-ups in Thailand, such as Mitsubishi Xpander HEV and Xpander Cross HEV in the country of white elephants that pack e:Motion technology.

"I arrived in Indonesia a year ago, at that time I seemed to have received that question. Actually, Xpander Hybrid has been launched in Thailand, and XForce also has plans for a hybrid version," said MMKSI President Director Atsushi Kurita to the media crew, when breaking the fast together, in the Jakarta area, Monday, April 1.

According to him, in Thailand there are several policies that are profitable for hybrid cars, and very competitive compared to conventional cars. For this reason, his party will see the progress of hybrid cars in Indonesia.

"When we will bring it to Indonesia, depending on the development (of the hybrid car)," he added.

He further added that his party cannot say now or when to bring a hybrid model to the country, and will wait for directions from the principal.

"At least I can say technically that waiting for directions from the principal and requests of the Indonesian people," he explained.

He emphasized that in essence Mitsubishi is ready with a hybrid model, just waiting for the right time.

So, it is worth waiting for the presence of a hybrid model from Mitsubishi for the Indonesian automotive market.
