KPK Leader Says Someone Leaked OTT Information But It's Hard To Reveal

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said there were parties who often leaked information on arrest operations (OTT) within his institution. However, the follow-up was difficult so that the person never revealed it.

This was conveyed by Alexander in a public discussion entitled Corruption Eradication: Reflection and Hope'. He said many numbers had been tapped to monitor transactions but silent operations were not carried out because they were leaking.

"I said earlier that there was no shortage of OTT, you know, the cellphone number we were tapping. However, there was a leak. Well, this is a problem and until now the information leak has never been revealed at the KPK," said Alexander at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.

"It's hard to do, who leaked it, well, it hasn't been revealed yet," continued the leader with the judge's background.

Alexander said this leak had been a problem since he served in the first term, with Agus Rahardjo as Chairman of the KPK at that time. Various efforts to overcome it have actually been made but have not yielded results.

"Until now, it has not been resolved properly who leaked that we will carry out OTT and so on," he said.

Even so, Alexander emphasized that the problem of leaking this information was not just ignored. Evaluation has been carried out even though there is no bright spot yet.

This evaluation is carried out so that the performance of the institution can be maximized, especially when holding OTT.

"Of course it is an evaluation for us to improve and how the management of the case is because this is a public concern," he said.

"And the performance of the KPK seems to be seen from there, from the action," concluded Alexander.
