5 Indonesian Clubs Sentenced To FIFA

JAKARTA - The World Football Federation (FIFA) sentenced five Indonesian clubs in the form of tire registration.

The five clubs that were sentenced to tire registration were Persija Jakarta, Persiraja Banda Aceh, Persikab Bandung Regency, Sada North Sumatra FC, and Persiwa Wamena.

Broadly speaking, tire registration is a prohibition for clubs to register new players they recruited on the transfer market to local federations. The ban prevented the clubs from playing their new players.

FIFA itself did not explain in detail what violations the five Indonesian clubs committed until they were punished.

Quoted from AP on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, it is known that generally a club is sentenced to tire registration for violating transfer regulations or having unpaid transfer debts to other clubs.

In some cases, the ban on playing can be lifted by paying off debts.

Among the five Indonesian clubs convicted by FIFA, Persiwa Wamena received the most severe sanctions. The former Indonesian Super League (ISL) club has been convicted since December 5, 2022.

There is no FIFA sentence period for the incident. FIFA only wrote that the event was sanctioned until the 'punishment was lifted'.

Meanwhile, Persija, Persiraja, Persikab, and Sada North Sumatra FC were both punished with registration of tires for three periods of transfer windows.

The penalties for Persija and Persiraja will take effect on January 26, 2024, while the sentences for Persikab and Sada North Sumatra will take effect from February 26, 2024.
