Gibran Learns Free Lunch Scheme From India
Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka admitted to studying the free lunch scheme from India which had been implementing the program for a long time.
Gibran admitted that he had discussed this with the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty when he visited Surakarta City Hall, Monday (1/4).
According to him, the program has been running in India for a long time, which has almost the same characteristics as Indonesia, which has a large population.
"That's the Ambassador saying one head, one child is 11 cents because it is very efficient, the logistics distribution is efficient," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.
Related to this, his party is committed to preparing the best scheme, one of which is by learning from other countries that have implemented this program.

"Including what the effects will be for children, then we learn how the distribution is, what the logistics are like. What kind of kitchen centers are the involvement of nutritionists," he said.
Gibran hopes that by implementing the best scheme, it can reduce the burden on the state budget for free lunch programs.
Even to study the free lunch scheme, his party has sent a team to India.
"Yes, to learn and others," he said.
Previously, the free lunch program for school children was one of the flagship programs carried by the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
