Landslide Material Cleaned, Sukabumi-Bogor Liaison Line Can Be Passed By Vehicles

After the landslide that occurred in Palagantalang Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, the Sukabumi-Bogor connecting road could be passed by motorized vehicles from two directions.

"The majority of the land that had closed the main road access connecting Sukabumi-Bogor has been successfully evacuated. So that currently joint officers are still cleaning up the remaining land covering the highway," said District Disaster Management Officer (PBK) Iwan Darmawan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 1.

According to Iwan, the joint officers who cleaned the highway in Bojongkokosan Village, Parungkuda District, came from elements of the TNI, Polri, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sukabumi Regency and a number of other elements.

This landslide disaster was triggered by heavy rains that fell from noon to evening, as a result the soil became unstable and eventually collapsed.

Meanwhile, Parungkuda Police Chief Commissioner of Police Hermawan said that his party had coordinated with the Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) to regulate traffic flow, either out of the direction of Sukabumi or from the direction of Bogor.

The impact of this landslide disaster had caused the traffic flow to be completely closed. This is because all parts of the Sukabumi-Bogor connecting road are covered in soil.

However, after several hours of ground evacuation involving two heavy vehicles, at 22.00 WIB the road was again accessible, but his party appealed to motorists crossing the road to be careful because the road was still slippery.
