Hyundai Ioniq 5 N EN1 Cup Racing Car Debuts At The End Of April, What's The Difference In Specification?

A car called Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup will take part in the official "Hyundai N Festival" soon as well as a sign of the start of a new era in sustainable racing.

"This unique electric racing car shows our cutting-edge technology and enthusiasm to push the boundaries of achieving electric vehicles in the racing arena," Vice President and Head of N Brand & Motorsport Till Wartenberg said on the company's website, Monday, April 1.

Designed to take part in the racing event, the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup is a high-end racing car for professional racers competing in class N1. The category was only introduced this year and will operate under open regulations, so the team can compete with various tire products without being limited by single manufacturing alone.

The Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup is equipped with a redesigned body kit, low over-fander, wider rims, and wings that can contribute to optimizing aerodynamics.

Division N designed this car with lighter weight because of a number of unnecessary components, removed in order to reduce the weight of this racing vehicle. The company also presents tempa rims, FRP caps, and polycarbonate windows.

Well, interestingly, even though the car is an electric vehicle, the audience can enjoy the engine roar with the presence of a typical race voice from the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup produced by NGB overboost, N e-Shift, and N Active Sound.

For racer safety, the manufacturer presents roll cages, racing bucket seats, and sophisticated seat belts. In addition, Hyundai N also presents other devices such as special fire extinguishers for EVs as well as modified charging port locations.

Based on the production version of Ioniq 5 N, the car is equipped with a dual electric motor with a total power of 650 ps equipped with an 84 kWh battery.

The Hyundai N Festival will begin in the opening round at Inje Speedium on 27 April. Competition formats vary, including one-on-one knockout system races and traditional sprint races, enabling a comprehensive understanding, and testing various EV racing methods.
