Indonesia's Aid For Palestine Will Arrive In Egypt April 4
JAKARTA - The Indonesian government through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) estimates that the delivery of all humanitarian social assistance to civilians who are victims of the Palestinian and Sudanese conflicts will arrive in Cairo, Egypt and the Port of Sudan in the next three days, Thursday, April 4.
Head of BNPB, Suharyanto said that on Monday night (1/4) or Tuesday morning (2/4) Indonesia would send the Aju Team to Cairo, Egypt led by Brigadier General Pol (Ret.) Ary Laksmana Widjaja and Port of Sudan led by Brigadier General Lukmansyah.
The departure of the Aju Team is tasked with coordinating with the authorities in Sudan and Egypt with the assistance of the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum and the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo in the context of the readiness of the Indonesian delegation who will bring humanitarian assistance to Sudanese and Palestinians through the Egyptian Government.
Furthermore, on Wednesday, April 3, Indonesia will send two humanitarian aid delegates to Sudan and Egypt, which are planned to be released by President Joko Widodo from Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.
Delivery to Cairo Egypt will be led by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of Indonesia (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, while the delegation to Port of Sudan, Sudan, will be led by the Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto.
"All delegates will arrive in Cairo and the Port of Sudan on Thursday, April 4, 2024 to hand over humanitarian aid and hold several meeting activities with relevant authorities in Egypt and Sudan," he said.
Previously, the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received diplomatic notes from Egypt and Sudan regarding requests for humanitarian assistance to the people there who are facing conflict and disease outbreaks.

In the memorandum, the Egyptian government expects assistance from the Indonesian government for the handling of Palestinian refugees who enter the Egyptian region, around the Egyptian Rafah (North Sinai Professor), due to an Israeli invasion of Gaza, Palestine.
As of March 2024, the number of victims of the Israeli invasion in the Gaza region was 32,333 people who died (12,900 children and 8,400 women), 74,694 people were injured and 8,100 people were missing. After Israel's land invasion to the North and Central Gaza regions, Gaza residents fled to the southern Gaza region - Rafah, which is the last safe territory for them.
Currently in Rafah City, Egypt accommodates more than 1.5 million Palestinian refugees, for which the Egyptian government sends a list of requests for assistance in the form of several types of goods that are urgently needed in the evacuation.
The Sudanese government also expects similar assistance to the Indonesian government for its people who are victims of internal government conflicts as well as the outbreak of the Cholera disease. Sudan announced that there were at least 2,525 cases of alleged acute diarrhea or liquid crisis suffered by the local community, thus requiring medical equipment, if not treated immediately, the number would increase.
On humanitarian grounds, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi revealed, based on President Joko Widodo's direction, the Indonesian Government will provide assistance to Egypt and Sudan in the form of goods in accordance with the list of requests submitted by each country, with an aid value of 1 million US dollars or around Rp. 15 billion per country.
