BPJT Urges Travelers To Use Maximum Rest Area 30 Minutes, This Is The Reason
JAKARTA - The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) urges travelers to use Rest and Services (TIP) or rest areas for a maximum of 30 minutes. This is to prevent the accumulation of vehicles.
"We also suggest that travelers can use temporary TIP which can be used around the toll gate office area," said Member of BPJT Community Elements of the Ministry of PUPR Tulus Abadi quoted from the official website of the Ministry of PUPR, Monday, April 1.
Then, if the rest area on the toll road looks full, Tulus urges travelers to go out to the arterial road to find the nearest rest area and travelers can continue their journey via toll road again.
He added that currently there are 134 rest areas on the toll road operating. This rest area is divided into three types, namely type A, B and C, according to the facilities available in it.
On the Trans Java Toll Road, said Tulus, there are 60 rest areas. A total of 41 rest areas including Type A, 21 rest areas type B, and 2 rest areas Type C. Then, for the Jabodetabek and Non Trans Java Toll Roads there are 22 rest areas. In detail, 18 rest areas Type A and 2 rest areas of type B and C each.
Furthermore, on the Sumatra Toll Road, there are 38 rest areas consisting of 22 types A, 7 types B and 9 types C. In addition, there are 2 rest areas type A and 2 rest areas type C on the Sulawesi Island toll road.

"Rest type A areas have a wider area and have complete public facilities. Starting from ATMs, toilets, gas stations, health clinics, workshops, minimarkets, prayer rooms, kiosks, parking lots, green open spaces to restaurants," he said.
Meanwhile, the rest area type B area is smaller with ATM center facilities, toilets, stalls or kiosks, minimarkets, prayer rooms, restaurants, green open spaces and parking lots.
Finally, type C rest area has the smallest area compared to type A and B. This rest area facility consists of toilets, stalls or kiosks, prayer rooms and temporary parking facilities. In fact, usually type C rest areas are only operated at certain moments, such as long holidays or holidays.
