As A Producer, Prilly Latuconsina Needs Collaboration For The Success Of The Indonesian Film Industry
JAKARTA - Indonesian films must be able to attract the attention of international audiences by bringing up stories that have strong cultural and social values. Young producer and actress Prilly Latuconsina said about the importance of collaboration and proactive steps in encouraging the advancement of the Indonesian film industry.
According to him, the advancement of the film industry cannot only rely on state facilities alone, but also requires contributions from producers and filmmakers themselves.
Indonesia's film industry will progress and exist if it is done together, we can't just wait for facilities from the state. We as producers can have our own job, what kind of story do you think, what values can be raised. So the characteristics of Indonesian films themselves are interesting to be taken out," said Prilly during a press conference on National Film Day (HFN) at the Pesona Film Building. "I feel that there are a lot of cultural and social values that we can lift from our own country which are characteristic and make Indonesian films interesting. Now it's also my job as a producer, how can I produce good works, so that I can sell abroad," he said.
In addition, Prilly also appreciated the full support provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in supporting the journey of Indonesian films to the international stage.
However, Prilly also emphasized that all parties, including producers and film distributors, need to actively play a role in developing the Indonesian film industry and collaborating with international parties to expand the distribution reach of Indonesian films to the international market.
