BI: Need Extra Business To Control Food Inflation
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Doni P. Joewono said efforts to control food inflation in the market require extra escort, such as high rainfall and increasing demand from the community. "Especially in Kalimantan, in line with the potential for increasing demand as a result of the development of national strategic projects, including the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), extra efforts to oversee inflation are needed," Doni said during the dialogue on the National Movement for Strengthening Food Inflation (GNPIP) monitored virtually from Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Saturday 30 March. A number of extra efforts to curb the inflation rate include strengthening supply and efficiency of supply chains in order to ensure price stability and food security. Another thing is the close synergy of the Central and Regional Inflation Control Team (TPIP) through GNPIP in various regions, including the GNPIP Kalimantan Region launched in Samarinda. The 2024 GNPIP program is strengthened by carrying seven programs and 12 sub-programs with various commodities, namely rice, various chilies, onions, and other commodities that are in accordance with the characteristics in each region.
