Madrid Spain Masters 2024: Four Indonesian Representatives Left In The Semifinals
JAKARTA - Madrid's quarter-finals Spain Masters 2024 will be held at Centro Deportivo Municipal Galllur, Madrid, on Friday, March 29, 2024.
A total of six Indonesian representatives fought in the last eight. However, only four managed to qualify for the semifinals.
The women's singles number only leaves Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi. The 21-year-old badminton player successfully defeated Thailand's singles, Pornpicha Choekeewong, in the quarter-finals of two straight sets with a score of 21-14 and 21-16.
In the semifinals, Komang Ayu has been waiting for the fourth seed in the tournament from Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon.
Komang Ayu's move to the semifinals failed to be followed by Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo. The 18-year-old women's singles lost to Kim Ga-eun (South Korea) in the last eight two straight games, 19-21 and 16-21.

Meanwhile, the only Indonesian men's doubles that entered Madrid Spain Masters 2024, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Muhammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, are still continuing their journey.
They won semifinal tickets after beating Germany's doubles, Bjarne Geiss/Jan Colin Volker, with no significant obstacles. Patience/Reza won two straight games with a score of 21-12 and 21-10.
Next, Sabar/Reza will be challenged by Danish doubles in the semifinals, namely William Kryger Boe/Christian Faust Kajer.
The sweet steps of Sabar/Reza were also followed by Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Patriwi. The only remaining women's doubles managed to beat the eighth seed tournament from China Taipei, Hsu Ya-ching/Lin Wan-chin.
Febri/Tiwi got fierce resistance before winning two straight sets with a score of 21-18 and 21-19.
The second-seeded women's doubles Madrid Spain Masters 2024 will meet the Chinese Taipei pair, Lee Chia-hsin/Teng Chun-hsun, who are the sixth seed in the semifinals.
Indonesia's last ticket to the semifinals was won by mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldi/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
Rinov/Pitha passed the quarter-finals after overthrowing the Chinese Taipei mixed doubles, Chen Cheng-kuan/Hsu Yin-yui, with easy two straight sets, 21-5 and 21-10.
However, Rinov/Pitha's slick work could not be followed by Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
Rehan/Lisa must recognize India's mixed doubles advantage, Sumeeth Reedy/Nelakurihi Sikki Reddy, through tight rubber game battles, 21-14, 11-21, and 17-21.
The Indian mixed doubles will meet Rinov/Pitha in the semifinals of the Madrid Spain Masters 2024.
