Apple Sues Former Worker For Leaking Journal Application For Vision Pro

JAKARTA Andrew Aude, a former Apple technician, has been sued for allegedly leaking classified information. This lawsuit was filed directly by Apple to a California state court some time ago.

Citing The Verge report, Aude leaked information about the Journal application for Apple Vision Pro, corporate strategy, and other leaks that are detrimental to the company. This leak was given to journalists and employees of other companies.

In Apple's lawsuit, the company included a lot of evidence of communication between Aude and the party receiving the leak. Apple said Aude was connected with Wall Street Journal journalists in June and September last year.

Aude and WSJ journalists have communicated on Signal several times. The app is encrypted and Apple shouldn't be able to see their chat records. However, Aude captured several chats in the form of screenshots so that they could be accessed in the gallery.

Apple revealed that the homeboy-coded journalist had been connected 1,400 times to Aude. The former Apple technician also leaked the list of the last features for Apple products and submitted other leaks to journalists from other media.

"Mr. Aude sent more than 10,000 text messages to other journalists at The Information and traveled across the continent to meet him," Apple wrote in a lawsuit.

Aude joined Apple in 2016 as a technician focused on optimizing battery performance. This work allows Aude to access information about dozens of Apple products that should be classified.

Aude's actions have actually been known since November last year. After two meetings and Aude admitted that he leaked several company secrets, Aude was fired and is currently being sued for compensation.

Aude never conveyed the reason for his actions clearly. However, one of the screenshots of his conversation with a journalist stated that Aude had deliberately leaked company secrets.

This is done so that Aude can turn off the products and features he is in trouble with. However, in the end, Aude's actions made him stuck with Apple's lawsuit which is currently looking for a jury to hear the case.
