Disney+ Change Logo After Integrated With Upstream Service
JAKARTA Walt Disney Company launched the Hulu streaming service on Disney + on Wednesday, March 27. In addition to uniting the library of two platforms, Disney also changed the color of their logo.
This change shows that Disney has united with Hulu to deliver exclusive content through a special bundle. It also indicates that Disney has acquired the platform that broadcasts the weISode and television show.
Since its launch day, Disney+ users in the US can access Hulu if they want to pay for a bundle package worth 9.99 US dollars (Rp158 thousand). However, people still have the option to subscribe on one of the platforms with a self-providing package.
Joe Earley, President Direct-to-Consumer Disney Entertainment, said that this merger is a great step because both platforms have original works. That way, users can access more shows.
"Today's official Hulu launch on Disney+ gives viewers more opportunities to find and enjoy thousands of titles easily, all in one place, which confirms the incredible value of Disney Bundle," Earley said.
In addition to integrating Hulu to Disney+, this Disney Walt streaming platform also re-brands their logos. This logo change shows a refined logo, a changed palette color, and an updated mnemonic.
Previously, Disney+'s palette color was blue, but now it's turning green. According to Earley, this color is inspired by Hulu's signature green color and the blue color Disney+ had used for years. This logo change hasn't been seen in any other country.

"The color is named Aurora, both for aurora borealis, but also as a tribute to Princess Aurora," said Earley. It's beautiful, a little more mature, and signifies change.
Disney acquired Comcast's Hulu shares in December last year. This acquisition is worth 8.61 billion US dollars (Rp136 trillion) over 33 percent of Hulu's shares. This figure has exceeded the market value agreed by the two companies in 2019.
This integrated version of the app has actually been rolling out in beta since November last year, when Disney was finishing the acquisition process. Since its release in the testing version, Disney has stated that this integration only happened in the US.
