Shopping Using Fake Money, Men In Gorontalo Arrested By Police

GORONTALO - Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North City Police, Gorontalo City, Gorontalo arrested a teenager who was strongly suspected of circulating counterfeit money.

North City Police Chief Iptu Fredy Yasin said the man who was arrested had the initials RSB (20) a resident of Paguyaman District, Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo.

"This case was revealed starting from a report by one of the daily goods traders in our area, suspecting that the one hundred thousand denominations used by RSB were used for shopping," said Iptu Fredy Yasin as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 28.

He said that when he came to the daily goods stall, RSB issued a bill of one hundred thousand rupiah as a medium of exchange to pay for his groceries in the stall.

Suspicious the condition of the money, the owner of the stall secretly contacted the police so that the personnel receiving the information immediately went to the location.

Arriving at the stall, said the police chief, personnel found RSB and arrested him.

During an examination from the RSB's hands, the police found two notes of one hundred thousand rupiah which were strongly suspected of being counterfeit money.

Based on the findings of the counterfeit money, RSB together with evidence were immediately secured and taken to the North City Police Headquarters.

"Currently, evidence together with RSB is undergoing examination," said the police chief.
