SBY: People Are Indeed Investigating Led By Prabowo

JAKARTA - The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) said that the Indonesian people really wanted to be led by Prabowo Subianto.

"Because the people really want it. For 3'4 months, I visited 85 regencies/cities as stated by God willing, he will be elected as a future leader," said SBY, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

SBY admitted that when he directly participated in the campaign to win Prabowo Subianto, he found the people putting their aspirations on the Minister of Defense. Therefore, SBY is sure that Prabowo will win.

"In the field, villages, sub-districts and cities I hear directly that people's support is very strong plus a quick calculation to win him. This is a big conclusion that I really want to choose Pak Prabowo to be their leader," said SBY.

SBY conveyed his aspirations to Prabowo regarding the electoral system that needs to be improved in the future, namely regarding the high cost of politics.

"His political costs are getting bigger beyond reasonable limits, also getting more and more so. This must be saved, we must not blame the people, but need to be corrected, need to be changed, and perfected, and so on into good elections," he said.

SBY and the ranks of the Democratic Party also believe that Prabowo can carry out the task of bringing Indonesia better. According to him, Prabowo's leadership in the future is a historical mission.

"Indonesia's future, we leave Mr. Prabowo. This is a historical mission and I am sure you will be able to change the better electoral system," said the chairman of the Democratic Party's High Council.

SBY also gave a painting entitled 'Standing Firm Like Rocks' which is interpreted as SBY and the Democratic Party's belief in Prabowo's upcoming leadership. SBY admitted to making the painting for 10 hours specifically for Prabowo.

"Batu in the middle of the ocean, this is Pak Prabowo, my belief in our future leader. Improving the welfare of the people, upholding the law and justice and other tasks that he will carry out later, I hope you are pleased," said SBY.
