DKI Transportation Agency Buys IDR 6.35 Billion Electricity Moge For Governor's Guards
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, explained the plan to purchase a large electric motorcycle (moge) with a budget allocation of IDR 6.35 billion for 5 units in the 2024 budget year APBD.
Syafrin revealed that the electric motorbike will be used by the Transportation Agency to escort VVIP within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The plan is that the motorbike can be used during the leadership of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the period 2024-2029.
"The electric motorbike will be used priority for the guidance of the elected governor later. It's only next year that he will exist," Syafrin told reporters, Tuesday, March 26.
Syafrin then explained the urgency of using electric vehicles to escort regional heads. According to him, the daily series of governors' work activities is very busy.
Therefore, environmentally friendly vehicles are needed. Moreover, since the emergence of the problem of air pollution in Jakarta, the DKI Provincial Government continues to urge the public to trace the use of fuel vehicles.
"The targets to reduce Jakarta's air pollution must start from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government itself. So, how do we invite the public, then we will waste waste on pollution," explained Syafrin.

Syafrin emphasized that the purchase of electric moge, including the electric official car of the DKI Provincial Government, was a follow-up to President Joko Widodo's order.
This is stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2022 concerning Battery-Based Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicle) as Vehicles for Operational Service and/or Individual Vehicles for Central Government Agencies and Local Governments.
"There is a Presidential Instruction Number 7 regarding the use of battery-based electric motor vehicles for official and individual vehicles. Therefore, we as the Transportation Agency chose the electric vehicle first for patrols," explained Syafrin.
