BUMN Assets That Reach More Than IDR 10,000 Trillion Are Now Controlled By The TNI
JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) is collaborating with the Indonesian National Army (TNI) to secure assets belonging to SOEs. With this collaboration, the assets of state-owned companies recorded more than IDR 10,000 trillion will be escorted by the TNI.
This cooperation was realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Synergy of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of SOEs and TNI which took place at the TNI Commander's Office House, Jakarta, Monday, March 25.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir in his speech said that SOE assets are vital assets that are very strategic in various sectors.
In addition to driving the economy, said Erick, it also plays an important role in Indonesia's infrastructure development and is oriented towards public services.
"For this reason, this synergy is very important in order to realize the national development of SOEs with the support provided by the TNI through securing BUMN Assets that are widely spread in Indonesia and protecting national vital objects throughout the Republic of Indonesia," he said in an official statement, written Tuesday, March 26.
Furthermore, Erick said that one of the five main priorities of SOEs is optimizing asset value and creating a healthy investment ecosystem.
Currently, continued Erick, BUMN assets grew by 9.0 percent in 2022 by Rp9,789 trillion and grew again 6.9 percent in 2023 by Rp10,470 trillion. This value is about half of Indonesia's total GDP.
Erick said BUMN is expected to continue to increase the value of its assets. This is done in order to make a positive contribution to the state.
"With the strong synergy between SOEs and the TNI, we believe this can optimize SOE and TNI resources, including securing SOE assets, so that their respective duties and functions can be carried out properly," he said.

Including socialization in the context of optimizing SOE and TNI resources, support for smooth tasks and functions of the TNI, BUMN, BUMN subsidiaries, and BUMN Affiliate Companies, asset security, personal, and operational areas of BUMN work, BUMN subsidiaries, and BUMN Affiliate Companies, as well as exchange of data and/or proportional information.
One form of implementation of the synergy between the Ministry of SOEs and the TNI is related to securing national vital objects that are strategically owned by state-owned companies from mining activities without a permit (PETI).
Through the synergy of all related parties, it is hoped that PETI can be overcome so that existing mineral and coal resources can provide maximum benefits for the interests of the state.
