Extreme Weather Makes Aquaplaning, BPJT Reminds People To Check Vehicle Tire Feasibility
JAKARTA - The Toll Road Pangelola Agency (BPJT) reminded prospective travelers of Lebaran 2024 to be aware of the occurrence of aquaplaning during extreme weather.
Therefore, it is necessary to check the feasibility of vehicle tires before traveling back and forth for Lebaran 2024.
For your information, aquaplanting or also known as hydroplanting is a condition where when vehicle tires lose their packing or traction on the road surface while crossing rainwater puddles on the road surface.
Member of BPJT Community Elements of the Ministry of PUPR Tulus Abadi said this aquaplaning made the grip of tires to the surface of the road decrease.
"And this is related to extreme weather, we have to watch out for it because later there will be names on toll roads, as well as other roads, there is a phenomenon called Aquaplaning," he said in the agenda of the Merdeka Barat 9 Forum, at Kominfo, Jakarta, Monday, March 25.
"Aquaplaning is a condition where the tires can't bite the point when in the gas so it's like flying. So that's what you have to watch out for," he continued.

Furthermore, Tulus said, this aquaplaning can be anticipated by the feasibility of vehicle tires before traveling long distances.
It can be anticipated by the feasibility of the tires earlier. So if the material is bald or has been retreaded. So please don't use it for homecoming because of long-distance travel," he explained.
Not only vehicleworthiness, Tulus also appealed to prospective travelers to also prepare themselves to travel long distances.
"I think travelers in general should really prepare themselves and their vehicles. Don't forget that humans must be ready and the vehicles must be ready, this is something that cannot be separated," he said.
