Protested By An Angkot Driver, Transjakarta Claims That The 10M Route Will Not Eliminate The U03 KWK Sustenance
JAKARTA - Transjakarta Operations and Safety Director Daud Joseph claims the 10M Transjakarta service with the Pulo Gadung-North Jakarta Mayor's Office will not eliminate the income of the drivers of the U03 Kalpika rides (KWK).
According to Joseph, currently many people in Jakarta still need public transportation services. This is in response to protests from city transportation (angkot) drivers or U03 KWK for the operation of the 10M Transjakarta.
"The route route traversed by 10M is very short of public transportation, so with the entry of TJ there, actually KWK U03 will not be short of customers because there are so many people who want to take public transportation but can't because they can't get the bus, the angkot," Joseph told reporters, Monday, March 25.
Joseph emphasized that the Transjakarta 10M and KWK U03 routes are not exactly the same. 10M serves the termination of Pulo Gadung Terminal to North Jakarta Mayor's Office, while U03 has stopped Cakung Tipar Market to Lagoa.
"Actually, the U03 route with Transjakarta is not 100% the same. So we help and support each other. That was what yesterday finally became the subject of our discussion when we met. Hopefully, everyone will be able to accept each other," explained Joseph.
Moreover, basically Transjakarta 10M is a service that replaces Metro Mini T41 with the same route.
After the COVID-19 pandemic was over, Metro Mini T41 stopped operating, so the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government assigned Transjakarta to take the route for its new service.
"In the past there were three who served there together, Transjakarta, Metro Mini (T41), and KWK. Well, when COVID is complete, Metro Mini is not there, there is only KWK. Well, it turns out that this route has not been implemented by Transjakarta. So, we do it," explained Joseph.
So, after his operations were stopped since a month ago, Joseph said the Transjakarta 10M service would resume operations at the end of March 2024.
"Yesterday we had a meeting with the transportation service until the end of this month a trial decree could be issued so that we can start another operation," he said.

The opening of the 10M route, which began operating on February 22, serves additions at a number of bus stops on Jalan Raya Tipar Cakung - Plumpang Semper. The Transjakarta service route Pulo Gadung-Mayor of North Jakarta via Tipar Cakung has 82 stopping points.
The route that is crossed at the direction of the Mayor of North Jakarta is Pulo Gadung Terminal - Jalan Raya Bekasi - Jalan Tipar Cakung - Jalan Jalan Tipar Cakung - Jalan Plumpang Semper - Jalan Yos Sudarso - turn back before the Sunter Kelapa Gading Bus Stop - Jalan Yos Sudarso - Mayor of North Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the opposite direction is the Mayor of North Jakarta - Jalan Yos Sudarso - Jalan Plumpang Semper - Jalan Tipar Cakung - Jalan Raya Bekasi - Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan - Pulo Gadung Terminal.
Just a day into operation, there were dozens of KWK U03 drivers at the Pulogebang Terminal-Terminal Tanjung Priok via Tipar Cakung as a form of rejection of the new route.
The mass action of the angkot driver parked dozens of his vehicles on the side of the road in front of the Sukapura Village office, Cilincing, North Jakarta.
