JAKARTA - Lion Air founder Rusdi Kirana said his airline is focused on improving the quality of human resources (HR). This is to optimize competitiveness in the global arena.

Rusdi assessed that good human resources are innovative, creative, and smart human resources.

"It is not human resources who work on time or human resources who want to be overtime but who can carry out innovative reforms. That needs to be trained in my opinion," said Rusdi quoting Antara.

He is optimistic that his party will be able to improve and improve the quality of internal human resources.

Rusdi said, until now Lion Air is innovating in the development of airlines in Thailand and Malaysia.

So that the focus on improving the quality of human resources for the next 5-10 years is the company's priority.

"What we think about is for future generations, how to replace those who have been around for a long time. Because it has been 20 years of work, there must be regeneration," he said.

That way, the airline collaborated with a number of universities to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship for young employees.

"Yesterday I met the rector of UGM, UTS, Udayana, Andalas. We plan to recruit graduates from the best university. Because in the end, HR will return," said Rusdi.

One of the universities in Batam, Batam State Polytechnic also includes students to take part in the aircraft maintenance industry in Batam Aero Technic (BAT).

"Just back, we have to upgrade, they can't go to school, graduate, work. They have to be in school when they enter our curriculum, so they understand. From ourselves, they will go to school again, provide machine repair training, and others," said Rusdi.
