Swiss Open 2024: 6 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For Quarter Finals
JAKARTA A total of six Indonesian representatives successfully passed the second round of the Swiss Open 2024 and extended their journey to the quarter-finals.
Actually, there were a total of 11 representatives who played in the round of 16 on Thursday, March 21, 2024, WIB night. However, almost half of them could not overcome their opponents.
The men's singles and mixed doubles sectors certainly do not have representatives anymore. Men's singles run out after the only representative to appear in this event, Alwi Farhan, lost to Danish ambassador Magnus Johannesen.
Meanwhile, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati respectively lost to the pair Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi (China) and Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje (Denmark).
The other two representatives who took up the suitcase came from the women's doubles. The pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi lost against the Australian representative, Setyana Mapasa/Angela Yu.
Then, Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum was stopped by Hsu Ya Ching/Lin Wan Ching from China Taipei.

The six representatives who still survive are one women's singles, three men's doubles, and the other two from the women's doubles sector.
The women's singles hopekeeper is Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The 2017 junior world champion detained Vietnam's representative, Nguyen Thuy Linh, two straight games in the round of 16.
Then, the three men's doubles that continued their journey to the quarter-finals were Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
In the round of 16, Leo/Daniel won over Low Hang Yee/Ng Eng Cheong (Malaysia). Bagas/Fikri beat Ming Che Lu/Tang Kai Wei (China Taipei). Finally, Sabar/Reza repatriated Xie Hao Han/Zeng Wei Han (China).
Then, the two women's doubles who accompanied the four representatives were Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto.
Apri/Fadia, who became the first seed to get rid of the United States representative, Badminton Lee/Allison Lee in the round of 16.
Lanny/Ribka follow in Apri/Fadia's footsteps by winning over fourth seed from Hong Kong, Yeung Nga Ting/Yeung Pui Lam.
