Pekanbaru Police Arrest Mobile Thief Of Up To IDR 500 Million
PekanbarU - Pekanbaru Police, Riau, arrested the perpetrators of theft in shops and stole cell phones whose value reached more than Rp500 million on Jalan Delima, Binawidya District.
"It has been secured. Still traveling from West Aceh to Pekanbaru while developing," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pekanbaru Police, Kompol Bery Juana Putra, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 21.
The arrest of the perpetrator of this theft was also assisted by the Jatanras of the Riau Regional Police. Previously, the mobile phone shop was stolen by thieves and suffered a loss of Rp501 million, on Sunday (17/3) at around 04.15 WIB.
Kasatreskrim explained that based on surveillance camera footage, a black Suzuki Karimun car was seen parked back and forth in front of the shop door. The perpetrator was a man wearing a black t-shirt, training pants, and wearing a face covering cloth.

The perpetrator seemed to turn on the welding device using a 3-kilogram gas cylinder and then cut the "rolling door" lock. After the door opened, the perpetrator immediately entered the shop while carrying a green plastic bag and headed to the shelf. However, because the shelf was locked, the perpetrator returned to the car to take long iron and forcibly opened the glass rack.
"The perpetrators stole cellphones from the storefront and fled. As a result of this incident, the victim suffered losses of up to Rp501 million," he continued.
