Gibran Ensures Readiness Of Infrastructure Ahead Of Lebaran Homecoming

Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka ensured the readiness of a number of infrastructures in Solo City, Central Java ahead of the 2024 Eid homecoming.

"One priority is that the video must be completed in three weeks so as not to make it difficult for residents or travelers," said Gibran, in Solo, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 21.

He said that currently the Gilingan Viaduk is still closed from March 15 to April 3, 2024. It is confirmed that on D-7 Lebaran the access has been reopened to the public.

The closure was carried out following the demolition of the old rail. Currently, a new rail has been built that can be passed by the train, thus the old rail can be dismantled.

Another infrastructure that is currently still in the trial stage is Balekambang Park.

"This is still a trial, because it has not been handed over to the Ministry of PUPR. We are waiting for it from PUPR as well. The point is we are ready, if the trial will continue, we will continue to try for the EOs," he said.

Gibran hopes that this Eid season will have a good impact on the economy of Solo City.

"Because of the long holiday, hopefully it will have an economic impact on the city of Solo and all those who travel back and forth can be launched," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Surakarta City Transportation Service, Taufiq Muhammad, said that with the demolition of the old rail, the height of the Gilingan Viaduk could be 4.2 meters wide of 11 meters.

"Bus besar bisa lewat situ," katanya.

The Gilingan Viaduk is also the main access for visitors to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Solo.
