Tokopedia And Tiktok Unite, Members Of The House Of Representatives Optimistic That MSME Sales Are Moving
JAKARTA - A number of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives welcome the collaboration between Tokopedia and Tiktok. The cooperation between the two platforms in the e-commerce business is considered to increase the capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or MSMEs.
Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Party, Singgih Januratmoko, said that the joining of Tokopedia-Tiktok was able to solve the problems that had been a tough challenge for MSME players, namely market access.
"We hope that this collaboration can help and increase sales of MSME friends. Because so far the problem for MSMEs is in the sale. Our MSMEs are able to produce quality goods, but it is difficult to sell them, especially when consumers are increasingly turning to online shopping," said Singgih, in his statement, Thursday, March 21.
Therefore, Singgih assessed that the Ministry of Trade's initiative to allow MSMEs to resell on Tiktok, as part of the transition process and integration into Tokopedia, is positive. This impact is increasingly felt because during the transition period, it coincides with the momentum of Ramadan.
"The month of Ramadan has indeed increased purchasing power. In other words, this is the harvest season for traders because demand always soars far above the even level. I hope our MSMEs who trade via e-commerce can double sales," he said.
Singgih even hopes that Tiktok Tokopedia will play a bigger role in helping MSMEs through this harvest season. For example, providing excellent programs such as promos and discounts or free delivery.
"If there is free and cheap shipping costs, it will increase its purchasing power again," he said while praising Tokopedia's Local Buying campaign as a form of real partiality.
Member of Commission VI DPR RI PKB faction Nasim Khan added that the collaboration between Tiktok and Tokopedia is expected to be able to increase the use of domestic products.
"Prompilkan dulu cinta produk Indonesia. E-commerce mana pun yang menjalankan program cinta produk lokal, wajib kita mendukung karena memberikan manfaat yang besar untuk masyarakat," kata Nasim.
But Nasim reminded e-commerce players not to stop at the local product love campaign program alone. They must also act further by training MSMEs to be more proficient in optimizing digital technology. The expertise and creativity of MSMEs in utilizing e-commerce will be directly proportional to sales figures.

"Any cooperation, and anyone who runs, must be able to have an impact and added value. Consumers feel safe and comfortable, while producers continue to grow and sell. Tiktok Tokopedia collaboration should be able to increase MSME productivity, increase competitiveness, increase sales and ultimately increase profits," he said.
Not only that, Nasim also mentioned that this is in line with the government's program to increase the digitization of MSMEs.
"The importance of digitizing MSMEs and others must be supported by sustainable infrastructure and socialization of training. Our task and the government is to make it easier for them to do that. Our society needs things like that, rather than just polemics about the e-commerce model business," he said.
