KPU Ready To Face The 2024 Election Result Dispute Lawsuit
Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari emphasized that his party is ready to face disputes over general election results (PHPU) or disputes over the results of the 2024 General Election, both presidential and legislative elections at the Constitutional Court (MK).
According to Hasyim, this readiness is a form of responsibility for the KPU as the organizer of the 2024 General Election.
"We also have to prepare everything, various potential disputes that are brought to the Constitutional Court as a form of responsibility for the KPU in holding the 2024 General Election," said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU office, Menteng, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20 evening.
The KPU, said Hasyim, will pay close attention to the 2024 election participants who filed a dispute over the results of the 2024 General Election. According to him, the election participants, including the presidential and vice presidential candidates who are dissatisfied with the election results, may file a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court starting three days after the results of the 2024 General Election, were determined on Wednesday night.
"So since then, three times 24 hours for election participants who will file complaints, objections or disputes over the election results, starting from then on, they have started registering with the Constitutional Court," he said.
Furthermore, Hasyim said he was grateful because the results of the 2024 General Election had been determined. According to Hasyim, the stages of the 2024 General Election have been running by involving various parties, both organizers, election participants and voters.
Hasyim thanked all KPU ranks from the central to regional and foreign levels who have worked hard in holding the 2024 General Election.
"This is not an easy job, a tough job, and we thank you for the hard work and cooperation of election organizers at all levels, both domestically and abroad," said Hasyim.
