Regarding The Chance Of NasDem Meeting The Prabowo-Gibran Coalition, NasDem: Joining A New Government Is Not A Priority

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh revealed the opportunity for his party to move closer to the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka coalition if he officially serves as President-Vice President for the period 2024-2029.

Surya claims that currently his party does not want to join the government coalition. However, Surya has not confirmed that he will remain an opposition if Prabowo-Gibran leads the country.

"Are you going to join the new government, huh? I don't think joining the new government is a priority, yes. The possibility of continuing to join or not joining, the position is the same today," said Surya at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.

However, Surya admitted that NasDem continued to open political communication meetings to other camps, including the Prabowo-Gibran coalition to the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camp.

"Relationships in political communication that have been well established so far must be maintained, must be maintained. NasDem's efforts to make this political communication disbursed, to see and have the same determination and hope, so that the process of traveling for the development of our national life can run better," he explained.

The KPU appointed presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as the winner of the 2024 General Election with 96,214,691 votes or 58.58 percent of all national valid votes.

Then, the presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2 Anies-Muhaimin received 40,971,906 votes or 24.95 percent. Meanwhile, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD received 27,040,878 votes or 16.47 percent. The total valid votes for the 2024 Presidential Election are 164,227,475 votes.

The Prabowo-Gibran pair's votes were superior in 66 out of 128 overseas election committee offices (PPLN). In addition, Prabowo-Gibran is also superior in 36 provinces, except for Aceh and West Sumatra which were won by candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar.
