Bulog Bangka Supply 15 Tons Of Frozen Meat, Will Be Sold In Cheap Markets

PANGKALPINANG - Perum Bulog Subdivre Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) is ready to supply 15 tons of frozen buffalo meat, to overcome the surge in demand for meat ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.

"This frozen buffalo meat supply will come a week before Lebaran," said Assistant Manager of Operations for Bulog Subdivre Bangka Muklis as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 20.

He said the procurement of 15 tons of frozen buffalo meat was to support the local government's efforts to maintain stability in meat prices due to the increasing demand for the public to welcome Eid al-Fitr 2024.

"This frozen meat will be sold in cheap markets, so that people can easily get meat at affordable prices," he said.

According to him, currently the demand for frozen meat is quite high, because the price is cheaper than the price of fresh beef in the market.

"We hope that the procurement of 15 tons of frozen meat can reduce the increase in the price of fresh beef ahead of Eid," he also said.

Head of the Babel Islands Province Industry and Trade Office Tarmin AB said the stock of fresh beef and frozen meat was still sufficient and prices were relatively stable.

The price of beef at the Pangkalpinang Development Market still holds stable, such as the price of one-quality beef or the back thigh to last IDR 135,000 per kilogram, the front thigh meat to IDR 130,000 per kilogram, the ramp or optional support of IDR 90,000 per kilogram, and a meal of IDR 70,000 per kilogram.

"Currently, the price of frozen buffalo is still stable at IDR 98,000 per kilogram and public interest is high, because it is cheaper than fresh meat," he also said.
